Has been approved yesterday by the Council of Ministers on Relaunch Decree which introduces a bonus for the purchase of vehicles capable of guaranteeing individual journeys with a low environmental impact.
This is to avoid crowds, especially in large cities, following the abandonment of public transport by those who want to ensure the right social distancing.

From today it will therefore be possible to ask 70% refund of the expenses incurred for the purchase of traditional and pedal assisted bikes, electric scooters, segway, hoverboard and monowheel. All with a maximum ceiling of 500 euros. The request can be made by residing in municipalities with more than 50.000 inhabitants and it is not related to income.

Rules for scooters and the like

Electric scooters have experienced significant growth in recent years: lightweight and foldable aluminum structure, footplate with grip to prevent slipping and wheels often without air chambers to avoid punctures. The performance related to maximum speed and autonomy vary in relation to the price range.

However, the rules apply to everyone. In Italy, scooters cannot circulate on pavements but only on urban roads with a limit of 50, on cycle paths and in pedestrian areas. They must be conducted by persons over 14 years of age, with thehelmet obligation for minors and cannot be used to transport other people, things or animals. The penalties for offenders reach 200 euros with confiscation and destruction of the vehicle.
