The flight. The homage of the Italian musical group to the great Roman composer who died in 2020 continues

Once upon a time there was a singing talent show dedicated to the very young, a director and three children, Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca who had been selected to participate as solo singers. Their voices were wonderful and then the director had an idea that would change their life: "unite and form a trio"he told them. It was 2009 when in the broadcast entitled I leave you a song, under the direction of Roberto Cenci, the tenor Peter Baron, from naro, in the province of Agrigento, aged 16, the tenor Ignazio Boschetto, da Bologna and the baritone Gianluca Ginoble, da Rose Garden of Abruzzo, in the province of Teramo, both 14 years old, they formed a trio that in the following years would have garnered enthusiastic acclaim. This is the Tale of the Three Tenorini, which after a short time the whole world would have known by the name of The flight. The name is also chosen in homage to the most famous Italian song in the world, In the blue painted blue di Domenico Modugno, year 1958, which in the famous refrain reads:

Fly oh, oh, Sing oh, oh, In the blue painted blue

The story of Il Volo

Tony Renis e Michael Torpedo, producers of great experience and very fine intuition, decide to involve them in a three-way recording project. They are the first Italian artists in history to have signed a direct contract with a US major in the world discography, Geffen Records. The traditional role of a major is to cover all expenses for the production, dissemination and promotion of the artist and his music. The three singers are also present at the charity event We are the world, alongside international artists, such as Celine Dion, Bono, Carlos Santana e Barbra Streisand. In 2010 their first self-titled album was released, The Flight, recorded in the mythical studies of Abbey Road in London, which contains seven covers and three unreleased. In 2012 the second album was released, We are love, which was followed, in 2013, by Merry Christmas The Christmas Album.

At the end of 2014 the participation of the musical group in the 2015 Sanremo Festival was announced with Great love. At the same time the album comes out Sanremo Great Love. The song wins the 65th Sanremo Festival. This is followed by a tour that culminates in a concert, enriched by the presence of prestigious guests, at the Verona Arena in September and on this occasion they present the new album Love moves. In 2016 they publish Magic Night - A Tribute To The Three Tenors or Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo and José Carreras, while at the end of 2018 their return to the Sanremo Festival, 2019 edition, is announced with Music that remains.

The new Album flew worldwide

The 5 November it came out all over the world The Sings Morricone Flight, an album that contains some of the most famous soundtracks of the Roman composer, as well as songs of which the Maestro wrote the music starting with If phoning, reworked by the voices of the three singers. To embellish the album an unpublished piece with music and text by Andrea Morricone, The colors of love, and a new text written specifically for this album by Morricone's son for The ecstasy of gold, from the unforgettable soundtrack of the film by Sergio Leone, The good, the bad and the ugly. The participation of prestigious guests such as the flutist Andrea Griminelli, violinist David Garrett and trumpeter Chris Botti.

The homage of the Il Volo group to the great Roman composer who died on 6 July 2020 continues, which began with the concert event on 5 June in the magical atmosphere of the Verona Arena. Given the enormous artistic heritage bequeathed by Ennio Morricone, the musical group has not ruled out that in the near future there may be a new album containing other soundtracks of the maestro remodeled by their voices.

Their words at the presentation of the Album

The Flight wanted to present the album in a location with a strong symbolic content: at the Forum Music Village founded in 1970 in Rome by Luis Bacalov, Ennio Morricone, Peter Piccioni e Armando trovajoli.

They explained Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto Gianluca Ginoble. "Thanks to this record we discovered wonderful films that we did not know, working on these songs was really a path of artistic growth. A song and a film like Sacco and Vanzetti they taught us and remind us that injustices exist and take over when they are supported by prejudices, emotionally it was the most difficult song for us to record, especially after seeing the film. We interpret it as if it were a prayer". (Source: La Repubblica)

Once upon a time there was a singing talent show dedicated to the very young. Three children, Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca just wanted to sing and maybe get some applause from the other children. Today Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca, or the Il Volo musical group, thanks to their wonderful voices, sing and are applauded by EVERYONE. Worldwide.
