The European Football Championships are upon us and each national team has come to the time of the choices: this is also the case for the Italian national team led by Roberto Mancini, which in view of the debut scheduled for Friday 11 June against Turkey has issued the list of 26 squads .
From the 40 initially available in the Coverciano training camp, 28 were initially left, then reduced to 26 as required by UEFA rules. No big news, except the last-minute call for Sassuolo striker Giacomo Raspadori.
As soon as he came out of the Under 21 European Championship, the player was immediately called by Mancini to be part of the squad of national A and so he joined the team, from which instead Gianluca Mancini, Matteo Pessina and Matteo Politano return home.
And so now everything is ready for the new continental adventure. Friday 4 June, at the Stadio Dall'Ara in Bologna, the last friendly match against the Czech Republic. Then we will move to Rome for the inaugural match against the Turks, the first meeting which will be followed by the matches against Switzerland and Wales.
After two years with so many successes, the time has come to see how much Italy is actually worth in the matches that matter: the impression is that the Azzurri are still a step and a half behind the various France, England and Belgium, but we hope that on the this difference is not so clear-cut.
