Twenty years after the death of Jim Morrison director Oliver Stone decided to shoot "The Doors»(1991), the film about the life of the frontman of the group who died in Paris in 1971. At the time of its release, the biopic was heavily criticized by fans and by the Doors themselves - Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger and John Densmore -. According to them, in fact, there were numerous inaccuracies, and Morrison's portrait was not at all the one depicted in the film.

Here are two curiosities that we found interesting in the film.




VAL KILMER DRINKED CARROT JUICE IN PLACE OF ALCOHOL

To interpret Jim Morrison, Val Kilmer he had to completely immerse himself in character. One of the most difficult aspects of the shoot was the singer's continued drinking. Of course, Val Kilmer couldn't take that much alcohol for the whole set and, as he said in this interview as a ruse he drank carrot juice instead of whiskey.

THE FIRE SCENE IN THE WARDROBE WAS INVENTED

According to the site Imdb.com and Corriere.it  Jim Morrison has never locked Pam (in "The Doors" played by Meg Ryan) inside a closet and above all he has never tried to set him on fire. It is a completely made-up story.
