A man was found unconscious in his garden with obvious signs of brutal assaults.
The news was released only yesterday, after more than three weeks of investigations that have severely tested the skills of the most capable investigators.
Retracing the facts on 23 December a man he was attacked with relentless ferocity while he was in the garden of his home in Via Stregatto.
He was found on the ground with several signs of aggression concentrated on his face and arms, his clothes were torn and smeared with his blood and he was unconscious.
The alarm was triggered by his wife who, upon returning from work around noon, opening the gate of their home, found herself in front of the chilling scene.
Despite the first moments of panic and despair, the woman found the courage and immediately tried to bring the man back; once I was relieved to see that her husband was still alive, she immediately called for help.
The arrival of the 118 and Ris di Lecce, led by captain Savino Scamozza, was timely.
The forty-seven-year-old was immediately transferred to the nearest hospital for the treatment of the case but fortunately he was not at risk of life, nevertheless he will have it for 20 days of hospitalization.
Several hypotheses are being examined by the investigators, who are working head down. Given the particular aggression that is typical only in cases of personal revenge, as nothing was stolen and the victim still having his wallet in his trouser pocket, robbery is excluded a priori.
The investigators are favoring the hypothesis of the passionate track, even if for obvious reasons not to disturb the family balance, they prefer to go with lead feet.
Probably whoever committed the vile assault did it after days of stalking that allowed him to carefully study all man's behavior.
He therefore waited for the opportune moment to make the gesture and surprise the victim, perhaps even from behind, as having immediately lost consciousness, the victim was unable to give the investigators useful information for recognizing the aggressor.
Despite this, the extraordinary skill of the Ris who conducted a grueling work of careful investigations, all the necessary tests were collected in three weeks that allowed them to follow a very precise track.
Yesterday afternoon the mystery was revealed with the arrest of the furious cat who turns out to be the victim's neighbor.
Il Gatto P., (this is the name of the animal) by profession singer-songwriter, already known to the police for his unregulated lifestyle and past crimes in the context of fights and assaults, once brought to the barracks he immediately confessed declaring that he had premeditated revenge following the discovery, a few weeks before the events, of his partner's betrayal with the victim.
In tears, the Cat P., told the investigators that he had never seen us again, when one afternoon he decided to secretly follow his partner who, after days of strange anomalies left their home which is adjacent to the neighbor, sneaked in stealthily in his kitchen and found himself in front of the scene.
Positioning himself in an invisible area of the kitchen, he witnessed the alleged betrayal in silence, always silently enduring the gestures of pampering that the neighbor addressed to his beloved companion who gladly accepted, reciprocating with languid effusions.
It all came to an end when the man affectionately offered a bowl of milk to the cat, it was then the peak of the uncontrollable fury that was unleashed in the Cat P.
Still during the interrogation phase, the guilty confessed that the blinding jealousy then led him towards the fulfillment of the revenge perpetrated with the insane gesture; always in tears he declared: "Sguald ..., and I who also wrote and dedicated a song to her!"

Now the Cat P. is locked up in the cattery of Lecce pending trial against him for aggravated assault driven by futile reasons.
Currently the man's conditions are under control and he is not in danger of life even if, when he is discharged, he too will have to face his wife giving explanations of what led the neighbor to carry out the attack.
