The 2021-2022 Champions League is ready to take off: the groups of the first phase have been drawn which will involve four Italian teams, namely Inter, Juventus, Atalanta and Milan.
The Italian champion Inter will see, for three quarters, the same teams they faced last season, when they came out badly in the first round: they are Real Madrid, Shaktar Donetsk and Sherif Tiraspol. Except for the Moldovan Cinderella, the other two teams are coached by Italian coaches, namely Carlo Ancelotti and Roberto De Zerbi.
All in all, the Juventus group is affordable: alongside the reigning European champions Chelsea, in fact, we find the Russians of Zenit St. Petersburg and the Swedes of Malmoe, the latter coached by a former knowledge of Italian football, namely the former Milan striker John Dahl Tomasson.
Atalanta inserted in the third band can breathe a sigh of relief: they will have to face the Europa League winners of Villareal, Manchester United and the Swiss side of Young Boys. These are tough opponents, but nothing seems impossible to overcome the round.
Inserted in the fourth pot, Milan obviously runs into a very tough but at the same time fascinating group: the Rossoneri will have to face the Spanish champions Atletico Madrid, the Liverpool with which in the past they were the protagonists of memorable challenges and the Portuguese of Porto .
As for the other groups, we highlight Group A with Manchester City and Paris Saint Germain and Group E with Bayern Munich and Barcelona.
Here, in detail, is the composition of all nine groups.
