LAMB (I) sacrificial, so appears the president of Juventus, Andrea Agnelli, who is experiencing the most difficult period of his presidency. What happened and what awaits you?

Once upon a time there was a young man belonging to an illustrious family who, in his early thirties, was chosen to lead the most loved (and hated) Italian football club: the Juventus. Her name was Andrea and his surname Agnelli.

It was the year 2010 and four endless, tormented and very difficult football seasons had passed for Juventus after 2006, the season of Calciopoli and Serie B.

Juventus from a corporate point of view no longer existed, it had not yet really recovered from that tsunami who had swept everything away in one fell swoop: managers, coach, players, victories, history and tradition.

Juventus was one tabula rasa where everything had to be rewritten. Above all, a credibility that the painful events of 2006 had canceled had to be rewritten and rebuilt.

Andrea Agnelli began the corporate restructuring work, without any kind of bonus since the money was not there at that time, deciding to start from the foundations, from the executive cadres, choosing Joseph Marotta as the new Chief Executive Officer e Fabio Paratici as Sporting Director.

The choice of the technician fell on Louis Del Neri, who had the difficult task of laying the technical foundations of a team that was starting a new cycle.

At the end of the championship, Juventus finished in seventh place.

The first year was an absolute transition from the point of view of results, but marked the beginning of a corporate rebirth whose strength and competence would be seen in the following decade.

The second year he landed on the Juventus bench Antonio Conte and from that moment a period of interminable and unrepeatable victories began. It is enough to remember the nine consecutive league titles and a handful of Italian Cups and Italian Super Cups to enrich the notice board of the Juventus Museum.

Then came the Super League

In the decade of Andrea Agnelli's presidency, Juventus achieved extraordinary results from the point of view of victories on the field, economic growth and image in the world, especially after the sensational purchase of Cristiano Ronaldo.

In Europe, the two Champions League finals, albeit marked by two defeats, marked an important comeback on the international stage.

The presidency of Andrea Agnelli has given such a sudden change of gear to the history of Juventus, which has brought with it many benefits, but also a train of unresolved problems.

Thus we come to the present day and to the crazy Superlega project. An idea that lasted 48 hours. All finished. Deleted. Maybe. Now, however, all those who had opposed this football revolution are presenting their bill. UEFA and some Serie A presidents have already identified the person responsible for everything: Andrea Agnelli. The Superlega was born from the joint agreement of 12 European Top Clubs each represented by their own president and / or owner. If things had turned out how all they hoped, it would be the victory of all.

The tragicomic sinking of the Super League, on the other hand, is the defeat of only one: Andrea Agnelli. Is all this right? Mistaken?

Surely it will be days, weeks, months of reckoning, where all the dirty laundry, the result of years of bad management of football both at European and national level, will fly everywhere.

Accusations, apologies, requests for explanations, resignations invoked and not obtained, changes at the top of both European and Italian football institutions.

Andrea Agnelli and his uncertain future at Juventus

In all this, and because of all this, the future president of Juventus could have a different name and face from that of Andrea Agnelli.

In the rooms of the Continassa, where the headquarters of the Juventus club is located, President Agnelli studies his future in a very noisy silence. The rumors of a probable replacement at the top of the company follow one another intermittently, but they are present, strong and clear. The name on which you bet for the new Juventus presidency is one and only one: Alexander Nasi. This, however, is another story.
