Meanwhile, it is good to know that Europ Assistance strengthens its commitment to promote the culture of sustainability by launching a project that aims to support the new electric mobility and offer dedicated services to those who choose transport solutions that respect the environment.
A path that began in 2003 with the formation of the Europ Assistance network to operate safely on electric-powered vehicles and becoming a reference partner of the main car manufacturers of electric and hybrid vehicles, now adds two important elements. A plan for the development of its own network of electric charging stations within the affiliated Rescue Centers and the strengthening of the rental service with the introduction of full electric vehicles in the fleet, are the new projects launched by the leading company in the assistance to mobility.
The inauguration of the first Europ Assistance charging station took place in Venaria Reale, near Turin, the capital of the Italian automotive industry.
91 columns by the end of 2021 for a total of over 250 charging points, will be installed at the affiliated centers, distributed throughout the country, chosen for their position easily accessible to customers and the ability to offer a wide range of services. from maintenance and repair to ancillary services such as servicing, tire checks, sanitization.
The charging stations, available not only to Europ Assistance customers but to all users who access the Centers, will be of two types: the quick with 2 sockets (22 kW power) and the fast with 3 sockets (55kW of power). The column can be used with a credit card, or RFID card, or via the App. Using the App, it will be possible to geolocate the columns and book the recharge service. Furthermore, during 2021 Europ Assistance will become part of an international circuit as an e-mobility provider, providing its customers with access, with reserved rates, to a platform that has a network of thousands of public recharging points in all over the world, including the Italian territory.
An integral part of this important project is the enhancement of the Vai car rental service h24, dedicated to all customers to continue their journey in the event of a prolonged stop of the vehicle, but also accessible to all users of the Europ Assistance affiliated centers. In addition to the hybrid cars already available in the fleet, 100 new generation full electric cars will be added to the fleet by the end of 2021. To seal the multi-year partnership with Fiat, as a top model among those present in the Europ Assistance "electric fleet", the new 500 electric was chosen, the first model born full electric in the history of the Italian manufacturer.
