Women's brains are more active than men's

This is underlined by a US research by Amen Clinics, according to which men and women concentrate their brain activity in different areas of the brain.

Mothers, sisters, friends and companions continue to repeat this to us practically forever. And apparently science would agree with them now too. An American research of the Amen Clinics found that the female brain it is actually much more active than the male one. This was evident from the brain images of over 26 people obtained through the single photon emission tomography procedure, which allowed scholars to identify regions of the brain with high neurological activity.

The research, which mainly looked at patients with various psychiatric pathologies, from schizophrenia to head injuries, showed that the female brain tends to be generally more active, especially in parts of the prefrontal cortex and in limbic system: this would lead to greater empathy, a greater capacity for intuition and a better capacity for self-control, but - at the same time - also a greater inclination to trough, anxiety, insomnia and eating disorders.

On the contrary, in the brain of men most of the brain activity would be concentrated in the areas involved in vision and in coordination. Understanding these differences, scientists pointed out on Journal of Alzheimer's Disease, it will be fundamental to understand why the incidence of certain brain disorders is particularly linked to the sex of patients.
