Wednesday 25th November and the International day for the elimination of violence against women, a recurrence this, established by the General Assembly of the United Nations through resolution number 54/134 of December 17, 1999. And so we wish to remember today, as well as for all other days of the year, this important date so that every type of violence can finally be neutralized.

We have therefore decided to raise the awareness of readers on the delicate subject through an interview with the well-known gallery owner Patricia Stefani who will tell us about it through the works of her artists Patty's Art Gallery, prestigious online gallery of Contemporary Art - www.pattys.it. Following the interview.

PATRIZIA STEFANI, gallery owner of PATTY'S ART GALLERY

Wednesday 25 November is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. Your Contemporary Art Gallery, the Patty's Art Gallery, gives space to eleven artists (and eighteen artists)… which do you think is one of the most widespread peculiarities of the creativity of women belonging to the sex? The peculiarity of female creativity is undoubtedly the inner search and love, the strong passion and often also the desire for protection that women therefore transmit in the elaborate. In any case, through the image, the fulcrum of each of their representations is always the sentiment. The works mostly arise from a profound, liberating impulse; they are gestures, chromatic emotions in all shades of bright red, in the various shades of yellow and black above all.

Manuela Andreoli, Anna Actis Caporale, Silvia Castelli aka Silarma, Maria Beatrice Coppi, Gioia Lolli, Giulia Quaranta Provenzano also known as GQP, Laura Ruggiero, Claudia Salvadori, Caterina Spatafora, Carla Tomatis or Carlà, Simona Zecca. Each of these painters, photographers, sculptresses is characterized by well-marked and specific accents: can you briefly tell us about each of them? Sure! I even find this question very funny and the answer is therefore immediate. MANUELA ANDREOLI is the emblem of inner awareness. ANNA ACTIS CAPORALE is descriptive, a true reporter. SILVIA CASTELLI is moved and moves by the search for herself, as opposed to the outside world, she is introspective. MARIA BEATRICE COPPI expresses femininity, elegance and grace although she forges marble and all types of materials - even the most adverse. GIOIA LOLLI represents passion and freedom. GIULIA QUARANTA PROVENZANO reflects the analysis, goes straight to the intrinsic meaning and points to the therefore of every situation. LAURA RUGGERO works on spirituality, and it is never banal but really wants to find the soul of the subject. CLAUDIA SALVADORI is characterized by the expressiveness rendered through the material for a woman who is cultured in all its many facets, from ethereal beauty to sensuality, from weakness to strength. CATERINA SPATAFORA reminds me of an authentic musical stave, full of good feelings. CARLA TOMATIS is a tireless researcher and she does it by means of technique, she is constantly experimenting with colors and materials. SIMONA ZECCA is a painter of the gaze, of the detail that cannot be easily interpreted because it is unique, personal and profound in each individual and extremely realistic.

Amy Winehouse, Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Mina Anna Maria Mazzini, Sharbat Gula, Sophia Loren painted by Simona Zecca are all women who have distinguished themselves in spite of everything and everyone. How - and it is possible - to be today daughters, wives, companions, mothers, workers and artists who do not give up on themselves for the care and attention to the other to which especially centuries ago and in some geographical realities especially they were voted? The women represented by Simona Zecca all have a strong identity, they are women who have demonstrated with determination that they have character and know how to juggle even in difficult and controversial situations, emerging for those qualities and characteristics that nature has given them. It is not easy to be a complete woman: daughter, mother, wife, partner, professional ... I am sure, however, that we all try to give the best of ourselves. The women of Simona are an example of this, who have become icons, demonstrating the stubbornness and intelligence that even allows them to redeem themselves and conquer a relevant social position. I think that in some respects (such as intuition and practicality) women have surpassed the male world, but I am equally aware that the road to equal rights is still a long way to go.

Silvia Castelli seems to paint women as attractive as, according to some clichés, the woman guardian of the domestic hearth is impudent; women who are not afraid to do and be what they feel, without hiding for fear of any judgment. Many times, however, female members are almost reproached for their attractiveness, as if being beautiful and highlighting one's beauty were a fault, were the trigger for the violence. What do you think about it? Assuming that a violent man, as I think, is a sick person as such, he must be treated or locked up ... That said, the woman must always be free to be herself.

The paintings Eva, Water drops, Reflex by Claudia Salvadori equally present a sensual and strong woman, self-confident: these characteristics of firmness and trust in the first person have usually been attributed to the males while the female has been given the duty to be mostly sweet and condescending. Are you of the idea that the a priori categorizations linked to sex and gender are valid for which, to say another, females as such should all be loving as if kindness were a gender connotation to identify sex. to say, to trivialize, if you are strong you are a lesbian, if you are sensitive you are gay)? That the female to be a woman must be tender and submissive, the male to be a man must prove to be strong and vigorous are affirmations that happen to hear as thoughts of this kind are still common. However, today the woman has evolved and knows how to be sweet and condescending and nevertheless, when needed, openly decisive and determined. I do not believe in generalizations, a priori.

Anna Actis Caporale is a woman who worked in the banking sector, but has never given up on her passions and that is travel, archeology, photography and painting. According to your point of view, how is it feasible to reconcile, without there being a destructive and exhausting tension, a more markedly economic and commercial soul with the artistic and imaginative one? Anna Actis Caporale has always been devoted to curiosity, in search of knowledge and through her travels she has also refined her sensitivity. In his paintings the right compromise and a very close relationship emerge between his everyday life, between real life represented with a certain structure and balance and his inner poetic world. In them Anna lives in all her completeness as and as a woman.

Is there a woman you have been inspired by in your daily and working life, and for what reason? My character was certainly forged by the education imparted by my mother, a very strong and determined woman.

Which female artist of history do you particularly admire and why, for what reason? There are many women that I can cite as examples of life, willpower and character… Coco Chanel, Margherita Hack and then without a shadow of a doubt Frida Kahlo. Each of them has been able to exploit, with shrewd ability and stubbornness, their talents and predispositions despite the hardest adversities they have incurred - leaving an indelible mark on history.

What is the wish you wish to make to women today and always? The wish I make to today's women is to always try to give voice to their interiority, to always be themselves. I wish them to know and be able to abandon their fears, seeking and finding their own free individuality in Fr.ensiero and expression.
