"The state exists [...] No one will be left alone", it is with this promise that Giuseppe Conte announces extraordinary aid for the families most in need. In this regard, the Government has allocated 400 million euro to be divided among all the Italian municipalities on the basis of the poverty indices of each. This money will be distributed in the form of shopping vouchers for families which, alone, cannot provide for the purchase of food and other basic necessities.

Furthermore, the Premier invites the giants of large retailers to apply further discounts of 5-10% in favor of the beneficiaries of the vouchers, citizens who risk having nothing to put on the table. "We are all in the same boat, no one feels left to himself", he is keen to emphasize the Prime Minister, highlighting the fundamental role which, especially in a moment of crisis like this, play the voluntary e associations.

The power of altruism will save us!

Each of us has extraordinary power within us, a power called altruism. It takes very little, in fact, for reach out to those who, alone, can't do it. Millions are not needed to provide concrete help to those most affected by this uncomfortable situation. Coronavirus, in fact, by blocking the economy of the entire country, it is laying the foundations for a further tightening of the gap between social classes, such that those who, even before, struggled to stay afloat, now it risks sinking completely.

It is for this reason that, solidarity initiatives are born from the goodness of individuals, designed for the good of the community. In some supermarkets, for example, you can do the spending suspended. It's about a food collection collection through the products that customers buy extra and leave in a shopping cart which, at the end of the day, will come handed over to the Civil Protection. The latter, therefore, will deal with distribute among the most needy families the kindly donated foodstuffs.

Between the alleys of Naples, instead, it is possible to come across a wicker basket a little bit special. Inside, a note bearing the following invitation: “Who can, put it. Who cannot, take it ”. The idea comes from Pina e Angelo who, in addition to managing a Bed & Breakfast, have always been involved in the social sector and, with this simple gesture, have dedicated a thought and, not only, to the last ones, those often forgotten by the rest of society.

In short, the ways we have at our disposal to stay close to those in difficulty are infinite. Let's not let fear and selfishness turn us away. Neither in this emergency, nor ever.
