The hat… simple accessory or the center of the look ?!

In our looks the hat is an object that to be honest is not essential but it has not always been this way ...

The use of the headdress is ancient and is recognizable among various peoples, one of the first hats worn by Louis VIII during a visit to Rome dates back to the mid-400th century. During the eighteenth century the tricorn hat also used by Louis XV became an indispensable object, especially for the male population.

The birth of female hats is instead linked to headphones and veils, in fact it could be linked to the scaffolding that supported the veils and later apparently became the headgear themselves. In the 700s, large hats spread to cover the face and shoulders to prevent tanning, and they also had to cover areas that were considered too erotic at the time (head and neck). The Hats, in 1700, overflowed with decorations, flowers, ribbons and even some claim that stuffed birds were also used.

In the second half of the 800th century the parasol is reduced, and the straw hats used for trips to the countryside are made of silk, with ribbons, curls and lace.

For some, the hat was not only a central object in men's and women's clothing but it was also an indication of a status symbol, in the case of men, while it was an object of pride for women. In the 900s, hats were wide, with lace, ostrich feathers, colored chicken feathers, silk, velvet or straw. It is said of hats that even prevented entry into the carriages.

Later the evolution of fashion led to the creation of hats with shapes

extravagant, innovative and exaggerated, from the 20s hats rich in applications, rhinestones and glitter to the wide visor hats of the 50s, or the extravagance of the 80s hats that are back in fashion, those hats that have ridden the catwalks leaving all breathless with their exaggeration.

The hat, although not as it was in the 900s, an index of prestige and therefore the center of our look, remains an accessory that can give a little something more to our style or can in any case give it a different flavor, starting with the simple caps that, given the wave of applications, they are also decorated with stones, pearls, chenille or colored and oversized wool, such as those proposed by Bershka,

to football caps with round visors, which parade on the catwalks of Louis vuitton or offered by less expensive brands such as H&M, Zara o Asos who have also made it for the winter,

or hats with a wide circular visor, which Yves Saint Laurent had already staged in 1982,

and that today they are returning to repopulate the shops

and then the great return of the beret, linked to French fashion and now also in leather, with applications or animalier,

but also the headdress that refers to turbans, tight glittery and colored knotted on the front, re-proposed in the new collection Gucci.

So, girls, why not choose a hat for a more refined and unique look ?!

For very cold evenings you can show off all kinds of caps: with stones, pearls, sequins, wool, colored, wide, narrow of any brand, color and pattern.

For a day of shopping in which I would recommend a well-groomed but not too uncomfortable look, I would enrich everything with a beret, but I would also combine this type of hat with a more scruffy and street look.

With a sporty look, even with a suit, I would wear caps with visors,

while for a retro look I would wear the hat with a curled and rounded visor on the head that comes directly from the 80s.

or you can be excessive and flashy with the new headgear Miu Miu more and more extravagant.

But there are millions and billions of hats that you can combine with your looks, I assure you that they will give you that extra touch that you did not expect, on the other hand even Queen Elizabeth has taught us, with her hats, that they give a touch of extra class.
